More than 130k civilians were recently forced to leave their homes in Al-Ghouta in Syria. There is an urgent need for every possible aid from daily necessities to pillows, mattresses and securing shelters. Food, fresh water, medications, baby food and milk are amongst the most urgent items

Australian Syrian Association Victoria continues to commit a 0% admin fee policy.

The 2017 Syrian Winter Clothes Drive

Do you want to help? Do you want to give a hand? The chance is in front of you and will not last for long

We are filling a container for the Syrian refugees over the next 4 weeks (until 20th October 2017)

The following NEW items are needed:

Jackets (all sizes)
Warm jumpers (all sizes)
Scarves (all sizes)
Beanies (all sizes)
Mittens/Gloves (all sizes)
Warm baby clothes
Sleeping bags
Blankets
Hygiene packs
Sanitary items
Baby’s nappies


The drop off points are as follows: 

North:

  • 3/36 Elliott Avenue, Broadmeadows (until 7th October only)
  • 9 Denver Court, Meadow Heights
  • 17 Manuka Place, Meadow Heights
  • Circles of light centre, 5 Moira Avenue, Reservoir (Saturday only 9:30am-1:30pm)

West:

  • 15 Themeda Court, Delahey
  • 29 Evadene Drive,Tarneit

East/Southeast

  • 8 Norweena Street, Doncaster
  • 32 Glendale Road, Springvale
  • 33 Mernoo Avenue, Clyde North (please message one of the enquiry numbers before dropping off at this point)


Additional instructions:

  • Please leave the items at the front door/on the veranda (where applicable) in the residential drop off points
  • Please enter the centre and pass your items to the people responsible inside at the specified times DO NOT LEAVE THEM AT THE DOORS OF THE CENTRE
  • Please donate $10 with each bag to cover the cost of shipping into the following account:

The 2016 Syrian Winter Clothes Drive

Important update 30 December 2016

Two containers were sent off to Turkey by the product of this project. They will be distributed to the needy people inside Syria Inshallah. We no longer receive any material donations for this cause. However, you can still donate for our other projects and become part of a noble cause. Remember that 100% of your donations will be spent to help needy people inside Syria. We are FEE-FREE organization.

Important update 19 December 2016

Urgent…. Final call. We are about to complete the second container of our Syria Winter Drive. We are short of 250 shipping bags, each can be filled with 5 sleeping bags or 10 cotton blankets. We only accept sleeping bags and brand new blankets for this call. For donations of money, please transfer/deposit your donations into the following account:

Important update 5 December 2016

Due to time limit and the large number of second-hand clothes that we have received so far, we will stop collecting second-hand clothes. The current quantity can easily fill a 40 ft container InshaAllah.

However, we are planning to send a second container immediately afterwards. Only BRAND NEW clothes will be accepted until 20 December 2016 or the second container is filled. Please check this page before you purchase or drop-off your donations.

Please also note that only 4 drop-off points are now available (see below).

The main items that are needed for this container are Winter clothes and necessities that can protect the people from the harsh Winter.

Items needed include:

– Warm winter clothes
– Blankets
– Sleeping bags
– Jackets
– Beanies
– Gloves/mittens
– Scarves
– Winter shoes

ALL ITEMS MUST BE NEW. Second hand clothes will NOT be accepted from now on. Sanitary and hygiene items are also accepted.

Almuntada centre
416 Barry Road, Coolaroo

56 Barry Street, Reservoir

Eastern / Southeastern Suburbs

8 Norweena Street, Doncaster

32 Glendale Road, Springvale

Additional instructions:

  • Please leave the items at the front door/on the veranda (where applicable) in the residential drop off points.
  • Please enter the mosques/community centres and pass your items to the people responsible inside according to the given time slots (below). PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE BAGS AT THE GATES OF THE CENTRES.
